McConnells Mill State Park

Ann and I hiked Alpha Pass, a short trail in McConnells Mill State Park, over the weekend. It was our first hike of the season and most of the trail was covered in snow and ice. The 3.5 mile loop took about 4.5 hours to complete because of the icy conditions. The trail runs parallel to Slippery Rock creek which was created by glacial runoff from the last ice age. We saw four kayakers make their way down Slippery Rock creek as we hiked along. It was a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed ourselves despite being pretty tired when we got back to the car. Below are a few pictures of the hike.
